Equine expositions are unique in the world of events. They are not “trade shows” in the traditional sense. Industry trade shows are events where only those involved with the specific industry, from manufacturing companies to retailers, attend and do business. The consumer is not involved at all. Equine expositions are also not “consumer expositions” in the traditional sense either. Consumer expositions, like those that cater to the “Home and Garden” or “Sportsman’s” crowd are “activity” or “genre specific” in nature. The Exhibitors participating are there for one reason, to sell products and market their brands. You get to try and buy products and, if you are lucky (or prepared) you can learn something that may enhance your sport....

One of the most effective training tools in your horse training toolbox is ROUND PEN SKILLS. The funny thing is, this aspect of horsemanship and horse care is often glossed over or not done at all. So many "my horse is good but X" horses could be described without the "but X" part if they had been exposed to good round pen experiences. Seems silly to us that this aspect of horsemanship is not highlighted more to the general equestrian community (even though many well-known Clinicians and Trainers have spoken about it for years)....
The concept of horse-related fairs, shows and expositions has been around a long time. Medieval Europe had several famous, long-standing “horse fairs” where breeders would sell off their equestrian stock and network with one another to improve their bloodlines, while merchants of every description sold their wares to the festival’s attendees. In the Old West equestrian focused fairs and festivals were frequent occurrences, usually held in conjunction with larger events and celebrations....
